Browse Sort Order

When your customer searches on HorizonWeb, you can change the order of the products in the search results.

  • If the Browse Sort Order box is clear, the default search results are returned. To clear the box's content, click Clear.
  • There are five categories that can influence the search results:
    • Catalogue priority – the higher the catalogue priority, the higher the product appears
    • Item code – alphabetical sorting of products. Numbers appear before alphas.
    • Deal items – products that are in a deal appear before those that are not. This setting is not recommended on large databases, because it will significantly slow down the search return. Encourage your customers to use their orderpads instead.
    • Stocked products – Products that are in stock appear higher than unstocked products
    • Brand priority – The higher the brand priority, the higher the product is returned. Brand priority is changed from Horizon / Stock Card / Brand / ellipsis button / Click in Priority column and type a value / Click the green tick icon. The higher the value, the higher the priority. It is recommended that you use a wide range of values, so there are gaps in the sequence. This makes changing the order of brand priorities much simpler.
  • Click the list box, then click a category. Click Add. The category is entered into the Browse Sort Order box.
  • Repeat the above step. Further entries are made into the Browse Sort Order box, separated by commas.
  • Click Confirm.
Example

Your lead supplier is VOW, and you also use their mailer catalogues. You notice that there is an attractive cashback offer from HP that you would like to promote. You also buy consumables from another supplier whose products should appear higher in the search results.

You would need to:
  • Set the priority of your catalogues. Set VOW higher that other main suppliers, and VOW's mailer catalogues higher than the main catalogue. Finally, set the consumables catalogue with a higher priority.
  • Set the HP brand priority.
  • Enter categories into the Browse Sort Order box in the following order:
    • Brand priority
    • Catalogue priority

Remember, changes made to HorizonWeb are live, so your search results will change as soon as you change the Brand Sort Order settings. Experiment with the setting and see your changes immediately.
