How Do I Update Horizon?

Before updating Horizon, you must back up your live database.

Then you need to download the latest version of Horizon. Our release manager will email you your FTP site credentials.

It is then advised to update your PLAY copy of Horizon first. To do this follow these instructions:

1. Copy the Horizon.exe and readme.rtf from the file you’ve downloaded into your Horizon - PLAY folder.
2. Copy the ‘Updates’ folder from the file you’ve downloaded into your Horizon – SERVER folder.
3. Right Click on Command Centre on your Task Bar and select Restore
4. Click on the Databases Tab.
5. Select the Play database.
6. Click on the Apply updates button.
7. Your Play system has now been updated.
8. Click on your Horizon Link for the Play Data to check you can login.

If this ran without issue you can move onto updating the Live copy. To do this follow these instructions:

1. Log everyone out of the system.
2. Copy the Horizon.exe and readme.rtf from the file you’ve downloaded into your Horizon - LIVE folder.
3. Copy the ‘Updates’ folder from the file you’ve downloaded into your Horizon – SERVER folder. (not required if already done for the PLAY update)
4. Right Click on Command Centre on your Task Bar and select Restore.
5. Click on the Databases Tab.
6. Select the Live database.
7. Click on the Apply updates button.
8. Your Live system has now been updated.
9. Click on your Horizon Link for the Live Data to check you can login.
